Nano-10GE provides two 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE/GE) ports for the ePC-nano system. Two 10GbE-capable RJ45 connectors support connection to standard CAT6e networks providing high-speed connectivity to PCs, servers embedded computers such as Innovative’s ePC products or custom, intelligent IO. Up to 15 Gbps full aggregated burst rate is achievable when using both RJ45 jacks (up to 10 Gbps in a single port mode operation).
The two 10GE ports are fully independent on the module. The Nano-10GE plugs into the ePC-nano board; an XMC module can be plugged into the standard XMC connectors on the Nano-10GE board; in this configuration the ePC-nano system supports the full XMC board functionality with added benefit of a high-speed network connectivity.
The NANO-10GE works with legacy Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switches and Cat 6A cabling. When installed in ePC-nano system, the auto-negotiation between 1 GbE and 10 GbE provides a smooth transition and easy migration to 10 GbE. When time and budget allows, 10GBASE-T switches can be added to your network to experience the full benefits of 10 GbE.
