The DNx-1553-553 are high performance two channel MIL-STD-1553 interfaces.

Each channel operates completely independently and provides a fully redundant dual 1553 interface.
Each channel is transformer coupled, although direct coupling is available as an option.

Most 1553 functions are implemented by the onboard FPGA. This greatly reduces the load imposed on the CPU.
As a bus controller, the board supports all standard BC-RT, RT-BC, and RT-RT transfers, as well as Code, One-shot, and Broadcast mode messages.
Remote terminal support allows the card to be set to a single RT address or to emulate up to 31 different RTs on the bus.
The RT implementation supports single, double, and circular message buffering. Bus Monitor (MT) mode allows you to monitor all activity or select activity based on RT address or Code mode.

Each channel can be independently configured as Bus Controller (BC), Remote Terminal (RT) or Bus Monitor (MT).

The board includes the 1553 API, which was designed to provide simple, easy-to-use controls while maintaining the ability to access all 1553 features.
The software driver is compatible with all popular operating systems: Windows, Linux as well as many real-time OS: RTX, QNX, RT Linux.
Software support is also included for programming languages such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, etc.
