The DAQ-9600 data acquisition system is a modular solution designed for high flexibility and performance. Its mainframe features three module slots and includes a built-in precision 6½-digit digital DMM, serving as the core for testing and measurement. With six available modules, the system can adapt to various measurement needs. Whether for research and development in product analysis or system testing and fault diagnosis in production, the DAQ-9600 offers a flexible and expandable design. This makes testing simpler, faster, and more reliable.
Tailored Configuration for Evolving Needs
The DAQ-9600 provides three module slots, each compatible with a range of module options. Users can select from six different module types, including general-purpose, multi-function, matrix, and high-voltage/high-current modules. This flexibility allows users to mix and match modules to meet specific requirements.
Each module’s measurement channels can be configured independently, offering control over measurement function, range, speed, and advanced features such as offset compensation. In a compact half-rack design, the DAQ-9600 supports up to 60 two-wire measurements, 120 single-ended measurements, or 96 matrix crosspoints. This efficient use of space and resources is ideal for managing complex and diverse measurement tasks.
Precise Testing and Measurement
At the heart of the DAQ-9600 is a 6½-digit DMM, delivering the functionality and performance of an industrial-grade device. It can measure and process 14 different input signals, ensuring versatility. Beyond its high resolution, the DMM offers impressive accuracy: 0.0035% for DC voltage, 0.05% for AC voltage, and 0.01% for resistance (within the one-year calibration period).
This advanced DMM integrates seamlessly with various modules, including general-purpose (DAQ-900/DAQ-901), multi-function (DAQ-903), matrix (DAQ-904), switch (DAQ-908), and high-voltage/high-current (DAQ-909) modules. To ensure reliable operation, all multiplexer modules use a “disconnect before connect” scanning mechanism. This approach guarantees that only one channel—or one pair of channels—is active at a time, enhancing measurement precision and system safety.
Built-in Signal Conditioning
The DAQ-9600 eliminates the need for external or plug-in signal conditioning modules for functions beyond DC voltage. This design significantly reduces noise and errors caused by external wiring, improving system reliability. Additionally, it avoids unnecessary cables, wiring distribution boxes, and signal conditioning components, making configuration faster and easier.
For instance, in temperature measurement, thermocouples often encounter the Seebeck effect—a thermoelectric phenomenon where a temperature difference generates a voltage difference. To address this, all DAQ-9600 modules (except the DAQ-904) provide cold junction compensation. This ensures maximum accuracy for all thermocouple channels and eliminates the need for temperature extension wires with external cold junctions, which could otherwise introduce noise and errors.
Internal Memory and USB Storage
The DAQ-9600 is equipped with non-volatile memory capable of storing up to 100k readings without requiring a PC connection. This allows users to record data internally and transfer it to a PC later. For larger storage needs, the system supports USB storage. Measurement data can be directly saved to an external USB flash drive or copied from internal memory to the drive for further analysis.
Simplified Data Collection and Analysis
The DAQ-9600 offers versatile connectivity options. It includes LAN, USB, and an optional GPIB interface. These options meet various remote control needs. Users can use the free DAQ-Data Logger software to simplify testing, collect and store data, and perform real-time analysis during measurements.
When using LAN, the system connects easily to a company network. This enables data collection and storage in a central database. Additionally, the built-in graphical web interface supports browsers like Chrome and Internet Explorer. Users can configure tests, define scan lists, and reduce programming time directly through the browser.
